Toolbox Tools: 

 

1. Erase CD-RW 

 

Clear out old files from a CD-RW to be able to record it again. For more information, please read the section: Erasing CD-RW

 

2. Erase DVD+RW 

 

Clear out old files from a DVD+RW to be able to record it again. For more information, please read the section: Erasing DVD+RW

 

3. Erase DVD-RW 

 

Clear out old files from a DVD-RW to be able to record it again. This option allows making/keeping the DVD-RW media in Sequential Recording mode. For more information, please read the section: Erasing DVD-RW

 

4. Erase DVD-RAM 

 

Clear out old files from a DVD-RAM to be able to record it again. For more information, please read the section: Erasing DVD-RAM

 

5. Erase BD-RE (Premium edition only) 

 

Blu-ray, also known as Blu-ray Disc (BD) is the name of a next-generation optical disc format. The format was developed to enable recording, rewriting and playback of high-definition video (HD), as well as storing large amounts of data. This option enables clearing out old files from a rewritable Blu-ray disc to be reused for recording. For more information, please read the section: Erasing BD-RE

 

6. Format DVD+RW 

 

DVD formatting prepares a medium for use. Every brand new DVD+RW media needs formatting before being used for the first time. For more information, please read the section: Formatting DVD+RW

 

7. Format DVD-RW 

 

DVD-RW formatting clears out old files from a DVD-RW to be reused for recording. When formatting DVD-RW media, the tool converts them to Restricted Overwrite (RO) format. In case they have already been formatted, it keeps the format. For more information, please read the section: Formatting DVD-RW

 

8. Format DVD-RAM 

 

DVD-RAM Format executes a low level DVD-RAM media formatting. Usually DVD-RAM media are preformatted by the manufacturer, so formatting is not needed. For more information, please read the section: Formatting DVD-RAM

 

Good to know: Formatting a DVD-RAM disc takes a considerable amount of time (about 45 minutes for a 4.7 GB disk). 

 

9. Format Blu-ray Discs (Available only for the Premium Edition) 

 

The "Format Blu-ray Disc" project enables formatting a new Blu-ray discs which have not been formatted by the manufacturer. In such cases, the Blu-ray Discs need formatting before being used for the first time. For more information, read the section: Formatting Blu-ray Discs
