Before initiating the erasing of a disc, please insert a recorded CD-RW disc into the drive to be erased. Rewritable discs can be erased and re-recorded multiple times.
Steps to erase a recorded CD-RW:
1. Start up SwiftDisc Burning Wizard.
2. Choose section: Toolbox => option: Erase CD-RW.
3. Select the drive where you inserted the CD-RW to be erased. You can verify the information about the selected device and disc space availability. Press the “Next” button.
4. Select an erase method from the “Erase Method” drop-down menu.
=> The “Quick Erase” function erases only the file list.... more |

Brand new DVD-RW discs are produced formatted in "Sequential" writing mode by the manufacturer. This means that they behave similarly to rewritable CDs. Burning data is possible until closing the disc or recording it to its full capacity. Then the disc should be erased in order to be recorded again. When using the "Erase DVD-RW" project, the disc will keep its Sequential mode. To change the disc to the alternative recording mode, please read the section: Formatting DVD-RW.

The Erasing BD-RE project is only available for the Premium Edition. Before initiating the erasing of the disc, please insert a recorded BD-RE disc into the drive to be erased. Rewritable discs can be erased and re-recorded multiple times.

Every brand new DVD+RW media needs formatting before being used for the first time. Once a DVD+RW has been formatted, there is no need to format it again for new data to be recorded.
Before initiating formatting of the disc, please insert a DVD+RW disc into the drive to be formatted.

The Format Blu-ray Discs project is available only for the SwiftDisc Burning Wizard Premium. For information on how to upgrade to SwiftDisc Burning Wizard Premium, please read the section: How To Upgrade From Standard To Premium Edition.
