Extracting a Disc Image

Description 

After selecting the device where the disc to be copied has been inserted, navigate to the “Disc Information“ screen. Information about the disc and the computer drive will be displayed.

The reported information includes:


  • Type of media and, if applicable, a recording format, of the disc inserted;
  • Number of sessions on the disc in the drive;
  • Number of tracks in each session on the disc;
  • Track type and size;


=> Please make sure that you have selected the disc which you would like to copy. Press the “Next” button.

 

 

After verifying you have inserted the disc you would like to copy from, specify the location and enter a name for the image. SwiftDisc Burning Wizard may create several files depending on your settings.

1. Navigate to the "Disc Read Settings" screen. Press the "Browse" button to select the destination folder. For saving the .sdi image, an empty folder is required. Confirm the output folder by pressing the "OK" button.

Note: Make sure there is enough free space on your hard drive before continuing.

The "Progress screen" shows the recording progress of the image creation: current file saving, overall progress, elapsed time, and estimated time left.

When the disc image has been recorded, press the "Continue" button to start another project, or press the "Exit" button to leave SwiftDisc Burning Wizard.

Steps to creating an image of a disc: 

 

1. Start up SwiftDisc Burning Wizard

 

2. Choose section Copy Project => option: Create Image

 

3. Select the drive where you have inserted the disc that you would like to make a copy of. Only one device can be selected at a time. You can verify the information about the selected device and the disc space availability. Press the “Next” button. 

 

4. Review the type and contents of the disc which you would make a copy of. Press the “Next” button. For more information, please read the section: Disc Information

 

5. Browse for the location and enter a name for the image files to be saved as. For saving the .sdi image, an empty folder is required. Press the “Finish” button. For more information, please read the section: Save Image
